Project Overview

Generates realistic smart-home activity data by scripting scenarios through a GUI and publishing them to openHAB via MQTT so researchers can prototype analytics and interfaces without installing hardware.

Many smart-home studies require realistic activity traces before physical deployments are possible. This project delivers a GUI-driven tool that scripts resident behaviour, publishes events to openHAB, and produces synthetic datasets for experimentation. The tool supports multiple scenarios and device types, enabling teams to investigate HCI, privacy, and wellbeing questions without expensive hardware setups.
